Doha Hit List February 2023 – New, hot and just reviewed restaurants, bars and offers

Longest. January. Ever. But February is here and it’s time for my Doha 2023 hit list – new, hot and just reviewed restaurants and bars and of course, offers.

Friday Brunch at Alba by Enrico Crippa

The Raffles Doha is a stunning hotel and this restaurant, with its cool and subdued interiors is quite something. Their Friday brunch is a great way to try the menu, developed by the Michelin star Italian legend Enrico Crippa. Their set menu Friday brunch is the antidote to crazy party brunches. Start with a lethal Aperol spritz or Prosecco if you prefer and sit back and enjoy. From pillows of pasta nestled in a light Brodo with shavings if earthy truffles to a perfectly judged filet of turbot. QR370 and QR495 including drinks, it runs from 120pm to 4pm.

Must order: It’s a set menu – go go with it.

Streets of India at Riyasat Doha

Ahhh Riyasat – always giving us great reasons to explore the cuisines of Incredible India. This Tuesday night offer explores different street food dishes from regions and cities in India. First Ambassador cab off the rank is Delhi and what a treat it is. Unlimited dishes for QR155 including Old Delhi butter chicken, snacks like pani puri and more. There are four live stations plus the menu. A drinks package is QR145 for two hours including cocktails and the evening starts at a very friendly 5pm. Just great food.

Must order: the mutton boti kebab was an instant hit and we ordered twice.

Friday Dim Sum Brunch at Holiday Villa

The Friday brunch at D’Chopstix at Holiday Villa is proof that good food doesn’t have to cost a fortune. This is QR99 riyals and includes steamed and fried dim sum, a live teppanyaki station, a noodle soup station, maki rolls and desserts. There is a roving fried dim sum trolley but for the steamed items and maki rolls, you tick off a form and hand it to the staff. My favorite dishes include the Malaysian style fried radish cakes, the Peking duck pancakes and the made to order prawn mee soup. And, it’s QR99. The diners are a diverse crowd including Malaysian expats looking for a taste of home.

Must order: We order the soups as soon as we arrive but also check out the roving trolley for some surprises.
