A friend sent me the Instagram account for Portugal Taste in Doha and I knew I had to make an order ASAP. In fact, I made two orders over two separate days to sample as much as possible from their extensive menu. I’m always looking for new and out of the box dining experiences in Doha and this fits the bill.
They do delivery only at the moment, you order online from their extensive menu, choose your delivery time and yes, all dishes are halal.
What’s on the menu at Portugal Taste?
The menu’s main dishes including a Churrasco platter (QR125) with Brazilian picanha beef fillet, beans and farofa (toasted cassava powder); shepherds pie (QR60) and cod fritters (QR70). Snacks like coxinhas, which are pear-shaped, deep fried perfectly savory chicken croquettes (QR60 for 12) and pao de queijo, the balls of chewy, cheesy bread (QR60 for 12) served with Brazilian churrasco.
Desserts of course include iconic pastel de nata (QR60 for 6), the creamy custard tarts encased in flaky pastry. This version arrive warm, the custard with a slight wobble just how natured intended.
We tried the octopus rice (QR85) which was funky and the rice al dente. The Lisboa burger was a quality beef patty with cheese, lettuce and tomato (QR35 with well done fries). The Porto burger has two well seasoned two patties topped with a fried egg. Would have loved more sauce but the beef patties were juicy and the bread was brioche style.
As I mentioned we ordered twice over two days (paid in full by ourselves)- wanting to try more of the unusual menu and impressed with the quality. Next time I will give more of their main dishes a try like their halal take on the Francesinha Sandwich – a Porto favorite that packs calories, with loads of meats, cheese and sauce.
All dishes including the custard tarts arrived hot and exactly when we requested – you can track the delivery via a link sent via text. Payment is by paypal, credit card or cash on delivery.
I can’t wait for them to open a bricks and mortar restaurant for a sit-down taste of Portugal in Doha

Most of the dishes are brazilian, not portuguese. But it’s ok, all delicious. The main portuguese culinary is made with very good quality of sea food and pork. So is difficult to mantain the origins here…
