Sometimes you just want to stay in and these three Ramadan at home options from Doha hotels are perfect for that. Traditional, asian and international – all are generous and offer something to please everyone in the family or group:
Nobu to Go
If you need a break from the traditional Ramadan options and want to to treat your bad self, this is perfect. Order ahead through the Four Seasons Doha online store, you pick up at your designated time from Nobu’s island home. It’s a set Ramadan menu offering some of their most popular dishes – the teeny tiny seafood tacos, the glossy black miso cod, the wagyu cooked how you want it (I recommend medium rare as it travels better) and their cult classic banana crumble with dates.

This is in addition to their sushi and sashmi and I was so happy to see their Nobu Caesar salad with its candied pecans on the menu. Pictured was for two people (a gift of the hotel) and we had leftovers for the next day. The menu is QR275 per person and they also offer many of their a la carte dishes and bento to go.

Mandarin Oriental at Home
For a family feast, the Mandarin Oriental offers their Ramadan Set Menu boxes for four (pictured) or six people. And again, you will have more than enough for multiple meals. The box includes, soups, starters and salads plus mains, and the highlight for me was a beautifully cooked baked seabass with harra sauce – roasted tomatoes and red peppers.
This was a stunning dish, that travelled well and paired perfectly with their saffron rice side dish. We also inhaled the Mahashi – vegetables stuffed with a herbaceous rice and meat mixture and baked in a tangy tomato sauce. Desserts are always a highlight at a MO Doha and the inclusion of their popular honey cake in the box was a crowd pleasing touch.
You order online 24 hours ahead through their store and pick up from the hotel the following day from 2pm. The box is QR800 for four people (the one we were gifted by the hotel) and QR950 for six.

A special note, the hotel’s Cake Shop has just launched some new pastries including a moreish tomato and oregano pastry with feta cheese, which had it not been Ramadan, would have been devoured in the car on the way home.

Four Seasons Doha Ramadan to Go
The Four Seasons is offering both an Oriental and International iftar box this year. We were sent the international version to try and it’s stacked with some dishes that will keep even the most fussy eaters happy. Starters include a shrimp and quinoa salad, an earthy mushroom soup and crispy fried shrimp. The highlight of the mains (you select two) for me was their pitch perfect veggie lasagne and some beautifully seasoned lamb chops.

I’m always going to choose their NY style cheesecake for dessert and this one hit the spot. Pick up is from the hotel’s driveway which is probably the most luxurious drive through joint in Doha. At QR360 the box easily feeds two hungry people with leftovers. You can also order their afternoon tea box and beef wellington online as well as whole cakes and their pastries.

As we enter the final two weeks of Ramadan, I will continue to bring you the most noteworthy and tasty options.
