10 Doha Happy Hours to Try This Summer

For those lurking in Doha over the hot Summer months, fear not. These 10 Doha happy hours to try this summer to keep your thirst at bay.

And now the short-lived “Great Drought of 2019” is over, we can all calm down and cut loose and enjoy a tipple or two at (soon to be) reduced prices.

But I know you’re not here for my witty repartee – you’re here for the best Doha happy hours at the moment:

Nobu 88

As usual Nobu Doha gives us something to love this summer with their new happy hour offering – Nobu 88. This is two cocktails (including their delicious Japanese gimlet) or three tiger beers plus a snack. The offer is every night from 6pm to 8pm. My advice is to make a night of it, start with the happy hour then head into the dining room for their Summer Omakase (chef’s choice) menu which is four courses for QR250 including a glass of wine. You’re welcome.

Nine Doha Happy Hours to Try This Summer

Maya Doha

This excellent restaurant keeps getting better. They have a nightly happy hour from 6pm to 10pm with special prices on drinks. But for my money their Taco Tuesday (tacos for QR15) with special prices for margaritas plus happy hour, well let’s just say I’ve had a couple of dusty Wednesdays. Bonus is the fun and lively atmosphere.

The Diver’s Club

The bar above the underrated The Pearl Social is packing in the happy punters daily and it’s easy to see why. With beautiful views of the lagoon around The Pearl and a clubby feel, happy hour is  50 percent off selected drinks, Sunday – Thursday: 6pm to 9pm, Friday: 3pm to 8pm. Do try their bar snacks menu or if youa re feeling hungry, the excellent restaurant downstairs.

Rose and Thistle

Cult favorite and proper “pub” the Rose and Thistle has a range of crowd pleasing the budget busting offers. Their Summer happy hour runs Saturday to Thursday from 5pm to 9pm and on Fridays you can try their 100 Club which is three drinks off their special list for QR100. their “Sunday Roast” is a taste of home for QR65.

Stockburger

Smoke-free and located on “the other side” of the city, this is a great location to have a drink, catch some sport or just relax after a long hot day. It also has one of the longest happy hours in Doha – 12pm to 7pm – with discounted drinks. If you are feeling frisky their Friday/Saturday, 12.30pm to 3.30pm “Drunch”” (annoying name but bear with me!) is QR299 for platters of bar food and more and add another QR50 for an alcohol upgrade.

STK Social Hour

Labeling itself Eat/Drink/Party is a loud and brash option and frankly it’s great fun. The daily and popular Social Hour menu runs from 6pm to 8pm in the bar and lounge (don’t worry, it’s just as fab as the dining room). Bites start from QR25 and include their signature soft shell crab sliders and truffle fries. Cocktails are QR49 each.

STK Doha – dare to be different

El Faro

I’m so pleased to see this venue get a new lease of life. The space is unique for Doha – murals, graffiti, a cosy private bar area and also a tapas bar. I tried some of the new menu recently and I’m excited for the future. But back to happy hour! Their Hora Feliz is 5pm to 7pm Sunday to Thursday and 3.30pm to 7pm on Friday (yesss!).

La Veranda

It’s hard to argue with the stunning location of this restaurant (the fact that it does however share a building with my new gym, well that’s a problem for me and me only). Happy hour is a generous 5.30pm to 8pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays – a very chilled way to round out the week!

La Vista 55

A little slice of Havana in West Bay, every Tuesday it is Mojito Loco from 5pm to 2am. Mojitos for QR45 and pitchers for QR185. They also have a regular daily happy hour from 5pm to 8pm. They have a lot of other events to please all tastes – but he sure to check out the band direct from Cuba!

The Mondrian Doha

I include the entire hotel in this because three of their venues have fabulous happy hours – depending on your mood CUT Doha’s daily happy hours from 6pm to 8pm and enjoy our delicious bites and sips. Unlimited drinks for QR195 and a snack (choice of three) for QR 80. Meanwhile upstairs in the Hudson Tavern their happy hour starts at 12pm and slides into 7pm with special prices on tap beer, wine and cocktails. For something very cool and laid back, check out Morimoto which has a daily happy hour (except Sundays ) from 6pm to 8pm – QR195 for unlimited drinks.

I know summer can be a slog, but these should help!
