Seven New Restaurants Opening in Qatar in 2022

This is Qatar’s year and all signs point to the 2022 FIFA World Cup. And, it’s fair to say that the food and beverage scene is matching that energy. Believe it or not there are more than 3000 restaurants, cafes and eateries in Qatar and that number is growing every day. But here are the seven restaurant openings I am excited about opening in Qatar in 2022.

Jean Georges at Four Seasons Doha

The master is back in Qatar with this contemporary dining concept at the ever evolving and exciting Four Seasons Doha. Expectations are high, Jean Georges previously opened two spots at the W Doha, so diners here know his flavors and style.

ADRIFT Ami by David Myers

David Myers is bringing the rustic charm of the South of France, specifically, Provence to Doha with a farm to table concept at at Le Royal Méridien Doha. also opening at this hotel is Turkish spot Yedi Terrace from Izmir-born Chef Esat Akyildiz this year.

SUSHISAMBA

The London legend is coming to Qatar. Known for its Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian cuisine (yep, there it is again), it will be located upcoming Waldorf Astoria in Qatar Entertainment City.

KAIA Beach Club

The Salwa Beach Resort’s food and beverage offerings just gets better and better. This new beachside spot will offer Asian Pacific cuisine, cocktails and a DJ. Keep a look out for their seafood restaurant OCTA also opening this year.

CHOTTO MATTE

The Qatar love affair with Nikkei (Japanese Peruvian) cuisine continues and Chotto Matte will open at The St. Regis Marsa Arabia Island, The Pearl Qatar. Expect fresh, clean flavors and a party vibe.

Lobito De Mar

Dani Garcia continues his love affair with Doha with this new venture, located at the rapidly improving Marsa Malaz Kempinski. I’m looking forward to the fresh takes on Spanish seafood dishes and views for days (it’s located at the former site of The Pearl Social)

The Score

This gastro and sports bar at the Pullman Doha West Bay will serve contemporary American cuisine. The menu will boast traditional favorites such as ‘The Massive Beef Rib Burger’ and the ‘Any Given Sunday’ dessert, served alongside live screening of major sports events.
